The v1.08 is a top competition ball used by the Italian National Team. A cushioning layer of d3o foam makes the v1.08 the world's first INTELLIGENT football. The molecules in the d3o layer lock together when the ball is impacted at speed to provide high energy return and less panel deformation. This causes the ball to accelerate faster from the foot, at a truer trajectory. At low impact speeds, the cushioning provided by the intellegent layer enables easy close control. The patented panel concept, which reduces the number of panels to 24, quarentees less variation in the different radii, because all panels are precast and no straight panel edges are connected and herewith a much rounder ball is generated. Due to the reduction in seams, the water uptake is reduced. Together with PUMAs revolutionary and patented dimple technology, the textured surface increases shooting speed as well as flight distance due to less drag behind the ball when traveling through the air. The ball can be used in all weather conditions and the special transparent PU coating guarentees very high abrasion resistance and water repellence.
The multilayered backing network gives the ball extraordinary shape retention and comes with a two year shape guarentee. A six wing natural latex bladder in combination with the PUMA AIR LOCK (PAL) valve and the PERIMETER BALANCE TECHNOLOGY (PBT) further enhances the balls superb flight and shooting characteristics. The ball is FIFA APPROVED which guarentees that the ball is of the highest of standards.
